I am a Barrister of six years standing, having been called to the Irish Bar in 1850. Having taken my degree with honors in the University of Dublin, I entered at Lincoln's Inn and passed nearly two years in the Chambers of the Eminent Real Property Lawyer, Mr. W. D. Lewis.
While in his Chambers, I was one of the first students who availed themselves of the system of Voluntary Examinations, since systematically adopted by the Inns of Court and so generally approved of. At the Examination in 1850 I obtained the third place among 15 Candidates. I enclose the original Copy of a testimonial, which, 2 years ago, I received from Mr. Lewis with reference to that Examination.
